Choosing the texture

We shoot at the speed that gives us the grain we want, not the speed that keeps the file clean. A clean file is easy. A frame with the right texture is a decision.

In print the difference is obvious. Grain holds the shadows together and gives the skin something to push against.

Keeping it honest

We never add grain in post. If it is not in the negative, it is not in the picture.
